Basic New Homes – the beginning
Bill Basic founded Basic New Homes in 1991 following an already-rewarding career spanning two decades with the two of the most active home builders in the Chicago area. Basic New Homes and a partner redeveloped the 192-acre Westgate Valley Golf Course in Palos Heights into the successful Westgate Valley Estates, a community of 910 units comprised of luxury single family homes, townhomes and manor homes. Westgate Valley Estates was a coveted piece of infill property and was tremendously successful; selling out in 18 months.
Over 30 years over experience
Basic New Homes developed and built new homes throughout the southwest suburbs: Lockport, Bolingbrook, Plainfield, Gurnee and now at River Crossing in Shorewood. With over 30 years of experience, Bill Basic has zoned, financed, developed and built over 5,000 new homes throughout Illinois, North Carolina as well as Colorado and has, thus, managed yearly production levels in excess of 500 units.

Bill Basic inducted into the Housing Hall of Fame
Bill Basic is a firm believer in giving back to an industry that has been his livelihood and has provided for his family. Furthermore, he was recently inducted into the Housing Hall of Fame by the Home Builders Association of Illinois (HBAI), an organization he has been active with since 1978 and served two terms as its President. In addition, Basic provided leadership during the recent recession which was during a trying time for the industry. Bill spearheaded industry campaigns that successfully defeated unnecessary codes and legislation that would have adversely affected the price of housing. Basic New Homes has resumed new home sales at River Crossing introducing a new portfolio of exciting home designs with base prices starting from the $330s.
